Clinical Practice

Respiratory and sleep disorders can cause a profound impact on the lives of patients and their family members. Sahan enjoys working with patients to help them understand their condition, improve their quality of life and access the most appropriate evidence-based treatment.

Sahan is active in clinical research, which allows him to keep up to date with the rapidly evolving specialty and integrate new knowledge into his practice.

Background & Training

Sahan graduated from Monash University and completed his internship and basic physician training at Alfred Health. He then went on to complete advanced physician training in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine through the Royal Hobart Hospital and Alfred Hospital, including a 12-month sleep fellowship. Through this time, he has gained a broad experience across the specialty, including severe asthma, pulmonary hypertension and end-stage lung disease. He has been accredited by the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand to perform thoracic ultrasound, intercostal catheter insertion and bronchoscopy.
