Dr Hare is a consultant cardiologist with a particular interest in advanced cardiac imaging, including transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography, 3D echocardiography, stress echo and cardiac MRI.

James trained at Monash University and underwent his residency and specialist cardiology training at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. He completed a PhD in advanced echocardiography at the University of Queensland and Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.

Dr Hare undertook further fellowship training in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (CMR) in Calgary, Canada. James is a staff specialist in cardiology at the Alfred Hospital and has a research appointment at the Baker IDI Medical Research Institute in Melbourne.
